Traveling

Saturday, August 21st, 2010

Long time, no post!

We’ve been travelling through Australia for the past few months now, and have amassed just over 15,000km of driving from Adelaide, around KI, through the Red Centre and up to North QLD, and we are now on the Gold Coast. An approximate route of our journey thus far can be found here on google maps.

Three of the photos I took while passing the cannonball memorial in the Northern Territory are now featured on the Cannonball Run (Darwin 1994) website, on the ‘After the race’ page.

Motorkhana Come and Try - MGCC

Monday, March 8th, 2010

Had a go at being an official timer at the MG Car Club’s Motorkhana event yesterday. Probably a record for the amount of cars there - in the 60s I believe. Also managed to put in four runs - one of which ended up being somewhere in the top 8 for the Atom configuration.

Tightened handbrake, but when pulled at full strength, nothing seemed to lock up, even on the wet concrete. I reckon the rear pads are just poor ones the mechanic put on when I had the rear brakes replaced. My last run was my fastest, where I substituted my left arm pull with the regular brakes and changed my lines for maximum width usage to keep my speed up.

Have a look.

Global Green Challenge Celebration

Friday, October 30th, 2009

At 10am I heard on the radio, “Ok, the Japanese team has just jumped into the Victoria Square Fountain”. I quickly grabbed my camera and rode into the city. As I got there the Nuon Solar Team had just arrived and jumped in also. This final shot is of the top three teams celebrating in the heat, in the very center of the city of Adelaide.
