Last night I updated this blog with a random photo in the sidebar. Unfortunately I can’t get it to link to the right place (should link to photography.augustboehm.com/view/ but instead links to blog.augustboehm.com/ ). So at the moment it’s just something to look at, but isn’t entirely useful…

What is the meaning of news to Japanese journalists and editors?
While the top story listed in Google News Australia had 585 news articles (and counting) regarding this morning’s magnitude 7.1 earthquake that I was awoken by (twas a smooth slow rockin’ quake in Nagoya), the main online Japanese newspapers (for example The Japan Times Online and the Mainichi Daily News) have absolutely nothing regarding the event.
Their top stories as of writing were Miki Ando’s figure skating, and the development of Japanese curry space food.
Then again, earthquakes aren’t really news in Japan I guess…
Long time, no post; summary
Thursday, March 22nd, 2007Has it really nearly been a month?! Well my 17 day holiday in Australia was awesome. On my first day (Thurs 1st) I settled at my Dad’s place and visited my Mum as well. The next day I went to the Clipsal 500 in 39.7 degree heat. Spiderbait played in the evening which was totally awesome. On Saturday the 3rd I went to Bec and Dane’s wedding. Congrats you two! On Sunday, Mum, Clay and I went to Mt Barker in the afternoon, and in the evening I had a party at my Mum’s place. Monday to Wednesday was a bit of a blur. On Thursday I headed to Jasmin’s in Melbourne where I met Max for the first time and saw how much Tony and Jay had grown! We went to the Moomba Waterfest, went to the Melbourne Motor Show, and saw Night at the Museum at the Imax. I also went for a short bike ride down the river near Jas’s place on Monday, which was great. I got back to Adelaide on Tuesday. On Wednesday, Mum, Clay and I went to Hendley Beach. On Thursday I got my new lenses for my glasses (I can see!!!) and had my dentist appointment and other stuff. On Friday I started packing and met up with Tom and Adam in the evening for a BBQ at Adam’s place. Saturday the 17th was the day I left Adelaide again, and by a matter of luck and chance, met up with Steve (my housemate for the last year) in Kuala Lumpur International Airport for around 40 mins! Sunday had me starting to unpack and I’m still in the process - my room’s in chaos!
Photos and more detail in the coming days/weeks. Now I gotta get ready for work again.
Surprise, surprise!
Monday, March 5th, 2007We just found out that my Great Uncle Donovan, went to the same high school that I did!
Clipsal 500
Thursday, March 1st, 2007I went to Friday’s qualification for the Clipsal 500. Here are some highlights of the few hundred photos I took:

Later in the day I met up with Knappo and Shaun, who I met via the AAL.
The day reached 39.7 degrees celcius. I was loving the temperature!
In KL
Wednesday, February 28th, 2007Yay for free internet access at KL with my Nintendo DS! The flight over was good, nice and sunny with a fair few good photo opportunities (mainly of clouds ;)). I’m stuck here for 4 hours. Now to find somewhere to exhange some money so that I can eat at the Burger King (Hungry Jacks in Adelaide; there isn’t any in Nagoya)!!
Edit - and there’s flies here! First one I’ve seen since comng to Japan. I guess that’s a bad thing…
