Video Release: The Oceanic Racing Team and Live For Speed
I’ve uploaded a 2.29 minute video (it was actually a weekly assignment for Video Production B at the University of Adelaide) to the LFS Movies Pit.

Two members of the ORt (Pinger$, Sambo) and PRT PeteSSS talk about the origins of the ORt, the online racing simulator Live For Speed, and S2.
Features footage from RiftR vs HOA races, AAL S2 Demo Race #1, and some new features of S2 (and uncredited online races).

2.29 minutes.
26MB.
704×384 Divx VBR 1346kbps, MP3 VBR 112kbps.
Enjoy.

Bummer, just as I go in to uni to hand up my essay (which now has an extension until tuesday), I come back to find my bike lock cut next to the empty bike rack. Reported the theft to the uni security and local police. Hopefully insurance covers it under personal valuables. Looking for a new bike.

Whoopee! Gusto was on the channel 7 news tonight :D

The video assignment for this week is a documentry about the Oceanic Racing Team / LFS S2 release. We went to Kartmania on Gepps Cross, and after interviewing three LFS racers (ORt Pinger$, ORt Sambo, and PRT PeteSSS), we raced some awesome 18 laps. It was my first time gokarting. The lap record is something like 30.56, and we were all within 2 seconds behind that (I got 2nd best laptime :D). It also was our lucky day - Channel 7 were there filming us go around, and apparently we’ll be on friday’s news. Interesting that they didn’t ask permission for us to be on film…

Last Wednesday, Dad and I had our first Ebay purchase, of a Panasonic NV-GS400 Digital Video Camera. In most camera stores this retails for ~$2500, and $2999 in JB-Hifi. We got it for AU$2015 :D. We paid via Direct Deposit, and three working days later (today), it was delivered to our door. Very happy :D Now to get a tripod…

Edit: Oh yeah, the reason why we upgraded was primarily because the zoom/focus on our old 1ccd camera is stuffed. Well it was around 5 years old :P Hmm, I’m wondering what I could do with a spare 3.5″ lcd display now… ;)

For Video Production B we have an assignment due every week, and the past two weeks have been a 60 and a 90 second video. For your viewing pleasure and due to the amount of webspace I have, you can download and view them right here :D Both are Divx and MP3 encoded (right click and save as).

August Boehm - Sidescrolling at 9 years of age.avi 4.4 Mb
The subject for this video was any aspect of your life - I chose to animate a sidescrolling platformer (a genre of video game popular in the early 90’s) I drew when I was 9. Was marked as outstanding.
