Hrm, should be working on my essay analysing the labyrinthine structures of Doom, but am instead working on a dvd with multiple videos (from the DV camera) and motion menus… Much fun :)
Currently Playing: Glay - BLAST, and Do As Infinity - Kouzou Kaikaku
It’s a good combination :D

Well, the rear axle of my bike has karked it. It cracks, wobbles, sends shocks throughout the frame, and brakes up. Dad worked on it for an hour and a half (Thankyou!!), but unfortunately without result. For the moment I’m back to my primary/high school bike whose rear axle isn’t quite as bad. Perhaps I’ll be up for a new bike?

Channel 7, I’m not sure if this is the second or third time, but shame shame shame. You’ve showed the great Pulp Fiction again, and you’ve made a mess of it again. I mean, what is the use of messing with frame rates and dialogue to filter out some F-words (in the most memorable scenes in the movie mind you), only to leave the F-word in one or two places (where it’s used as a noun and not as a verb/adjective). And I mean, when Vincent shoots the guy in the car, it’s so obvious that you cut out the actual shot (around 1 second worth), because all of a sudden the car is covered in blood, and he’s instantly saying he didn’t mean to. The way that we don’t see the blood spatter leaves a hole in that narrative, which the viewer sees as a kind of magic trick; it’s almost comic. Now, do you want your television audiences to see violence as a repulsive thing, or something to laugh at? It is a repulsive scene, yet, through your censorship, you have made it comic. Shame, shame, shame.

The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides with the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who in the name of charity and good will shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother’s keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon those with great vengeance and with furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know that my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee. [greatly altered Ezekiel 25:17]

Except that Channel 7 does not have an email address.

Just watching Alien3. If only they kept the broadcast in widescreen. I had a slight flash of lightning in my brain, realising how it really explores the unfair differences between masculine and feminine power relationships. It’s great (for Ripley) once the closed minded ‘manager’ of the prison facility dies :)

Oh yes, I haven’t mentioned here in detail about my first internet purchase… I bought some Koss headphones from the US. They arrived last weekend. They are as the reviews say. The sound quality is awesome. I thought I would not be able to hear more sounds in music. I thought that my old sony earplugs gave a pretty good sound. These KSC-35s rock. People say that with these they now hear the hiss and clicks in (recorded) looped music. I always heard them, but I never knew how I would be able to hear the quality individual characteristics of the clicks. I need no post-processing from winamp (no DFX, no Q-filter, not even an equalizer). ‘Nuff said :)
