Well, I guess it’s time for an update.
The last two-three weeks have been spent shooting and editing a 13 minute video production that discusses the convergence between television and the internet, with a focus on reality tv. We made our own reality tv show called ‘Sink Or Swim’, where contestants try to renovate a dilapolated swimming pool, and is broadcast entirely through the internet.
Last thursday morning (between 1.30am and 8am) an unwelcome visitor burgled our dining room while we slept. Fortunately they only took our two cameras and not the computer. If they had taken the computer, then nine members of our group might have scored zero for a presentation that afternoon. The presentation went well, although less than half of the course students were there to view the best video in all the presentations (all the others were equivilant of high school media productions). Got some positive feedback, but only from a few people (in this case, positive means extremely positive).
I wasn’t too attached to the Canon A40 (it is replaceable), although the 128mb card still had photos from Japan on it.
On more current news, I’m having troubles choosing a text to analyse for my Media Theory essay on engulfment/immersion in film/games. Check this out for a humorous look at an idea for an Ultimate War Simulator.
