I seem to bumping into people lately (not physically :P). Last wednesday night just as I was leaving Uni, I came across Brenton from GIHS. Apparently he’s doing a photography course at UniSA (next to AdelUni). This evening as I was crossing North Tce on the way home I stumbled past Mr Hewton from GIHS as well. He was on his way to his bus so couldn’t talk long, but he’s wanting to catch up sometime :s.

Tuesday, August 26th, 2003Ha Har!
Aki and I got to the Ballroom at the Hyatt around a quarter of an hour early (her dad drives too fast!). The 4.5 hours of drinks (7.30 till midnight, although the bar opened around 10 mins early or so) did seem to last forever, which was good!!! Everyone in formal gear looked great (especially @ki!). I took my dads A20 (as mine isn’t fixed yet
) and took a number of photos. I was tempted to take photos of the foyer and interior architecture/design of the Hyatt (including the waterfall walls) but I guess didn’t get around to it… Anyhoo, they served champagne, red and white wine, and beer (as well as water and soft drinks :P). How many did I have? Well, it’s near impossible to count as the glasses are bottomless… you take a sip or too, look away for a second, and low and behold, the glass has refilled itself :P. The food was surprisingly good, way better than at the Stamford Grand in Yr 12. The dessert was yum too! After the speeches by the two guest speakers, we were surprised to see that the keyboardist in the cover band Black Magic, was none other than Mr Jones from GIHS! Lauren and us said hi, and he recognised us too. After people had started to leave, we strolled through the Casino on the route to a Taxi to Rundle St and Sugar, where we were greeted by a loud and hot atmosphere. A bit too hot, so Aki and I went around the corner to the Belgian Beer Cafe for some air and water (they weren’t serving their delicious fries at 2am
). We then went home.
Currently looking at: That guy from the Curiosity Show on the TV ad for maggi infusion…

Wednesday, August 20th, 2003This evening’s Professional Ethics lecture was more interesting than usual. We had a guest speaker (no idea who she was but she’s from the US) who basically talked about previous stuff we learnt in the last 1.5 years and put her own experiences as a journalist in as well.
Aki’s come down with clogged sinuses and a temperature :(. I hope that she gets better before the weekend - Ball and all.

Monday, August 18th, 2003Ok. Long time, no post.
The wednesday before last, Lauren, Maxx, Aki and I went to the AUMA quiz night. The questions were a little more entertaining than the one for volleyball, but there was lots of stuff for the $5 entry. We got pizza, buns and stuff from bakers delight, lots of Red Bull (I took 4 home :P) and these weren’t even the prizes! Anyhoo, our table won a prize for coming last (hmm, but we did go well!) and for having the least amount of people (our table name was ‘less people, more prizes’). Aki chose a number during bingo which got specially chosen for a prize - we chose a thick book titled ‘Icon Design’, and it talks about designing those 32×32 pixel icons (or so) that appear on your desktop.
Saturday we celebrated Lauren’s 20th by going to fasta pasta for lunch and partying at Maxx’s for the rest of the day (included cake making, UpWords, Pictionary [the family edition :D], music, cable tv and alchies :P). Happy Birthday Lauren!
Coming up next is the AUMA Ball. Both Aki and I have bought new clothing for it (she got a stunning black dress :P, and I got a microfibre suit :P). It’s at the Hyatt main ballroom, features a 4.5 hour free drink period, two course meal, a band, speakers yet to be announced, and an afterparty at the Sugar nightclub. Should be fun ![]()
Aki and I have been looking at travel agents for international airfares, and we’re still looking, but not for long.
Now, to continue on my Powerpoint presentation for LCT.

Saturday, July 26th, 2003Pizza last week was quite outrageous… it’s turning into a Eastern Australian version of the Lock Stock / Pulp Fiction genre.
Aki and I have now seen the first 11 episodes of Azumanga Daioh, and we can’t get enough of it!
Semester 4 starts on monday. Well, now my computer is running great for productivity (of all kinds), but it was unfortunate that I spent the majority of the holidays doing this. Oh well. Has been quite a learning experience.
@ki has a new blog working now
@ puresoul02.blogspot.com.
The Naked Gun is currently airing on TV - funny.

Good news:
Computer got fixed by Craig at the LAN. Ended up being a BIOS entry relating to RAM.
Ganglion Cyst in my wrist has decreased in size!
Jay has been found standing in his crib!
In other news: reformatted WinXP from scratch again on friday, and am currently installing things one at a time for a change
- is much faster now.
